I also have a CVA Mag Bolt 150 but the range I shoot at only goes out to 100 yards. I shoot 295 gr Power Belts with 100 grains of Clear Shot powder and am able to get 2 inch groups at 100 yards and this is with using fiber optic sights. I haven't been able to shoot at anything further than 100 yards yet.

shooter Dan.have you taking any deer with the powerbelt yet. mix reviews on stopping power at close range with the powerbelts seem to just punch a hole threw at close range.i myself have not tried them on deer yet.

lonewolf5347;I have taken two bucks with the power-belts with no problem.one went in on a rib and came out taking two ribs and a hole about the size of a tennis ball. the other was a neck shot at about 10 yards.took out about a 4" pieace of the neck.

I am not a hunter I am a whitetail population reduction specialest

remember keep your back to the sun, your knife sharp, and your powder dry.

Wolf, I have taken 3 deer with the power belt
295 grn. copper clad hollow point, one doe adout 80 lbs. at 10 steps, shot her in the white spot on her neck, almost took her head off. Shot another doe about the same size at about 65-70 yds hit high in the back blowed up about 5-6 inches of back bone. Shot a cow sized doe at about 80 yds. from a tree stand
went in high on the left side in front of the shoulder, found the bullet in the hind quarter on the right side, all three deer dropped in thier tracks.I am pleased with the terminal performance of the bullet just wish they made them in a 200-220 grn. for more range.Have gun set dead on at 100 yds.missed two nice bucks this year.both some where around 130-150yds.

rayferd:they are coming out with a 245 grain soon.don't get me wrong i think the bullet is great.it shoots great groups at 50 yards with iron sight 3 shots inside a 1/2 inch.on the other hand the sabots qt's 40's 235 grain shoots great also.and is a flat shooting bullet out to 150 yards.but with iron sight ,that distance is a hard shot.the other powerbelt poly pointed tip would shoot flatter.from what i understand on poly tips they are nothing but hp. bullets.
