a friend purchased a sako 223 heavy barrel rifle and does not show a model number. the only markings show on top of the action Sako I . any information about this riflewould be appreciated . thanks

Sounds like a Sako I action (sako 75). Not much really to say about it. Wood? Synthetic?

If it has 3 lugs it's a 75 would be another way to tell.

My Sako is an older one (1994) and is marked L691. It is a 300 WBY, so I don't know if the non-magnums were marked the same way. Something in the back of mind tells me that non-magnums were L591, but I can't be for sure.
