I have a Sako Riihimaki in .222 caliber and I am trying to figure out the model of this rifle. Stampings are as follows:
Sako Riihimaki
Serial number : 47*** (5 digits)
Made in Finland
Cal. .222
Bofors Steel
Those are the only stampings and I can not find a model number anywhere. The website says about the action being stamped with the model number, but it isn't there. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

According to Frank de Haas, "Bolt Action Rifles" 1971 edition: "The model 52 J.C. Higgins in .222 caliber (sold by Sears Roebuck) was based on the Sako L-46 action."
Higgins actually used Sako actions in their rifles but the whole rifle per se isn't a Sako. Riihimaki, btw, is the town in Finland where the Sakop factory is located.
Top dollar on your rifle in 85% condition might be $450....

Rebel Hog,
I don't think it is a J.C. Higgins Sears and Roebuck rifle. I have found several of those with pictures on the internet and they are all engraved with J.C. Higgins and Sears Roebuck & company. My rifle is not engraved with these things. The rifle I have found to be the closest is this one:

My grandfather gave me this rifle when I turned 12 which was 1986. I do know that he had owned it for quite a long time previous to that.
