Default crossbow scopes?

i have a compact leupold rifle scope 2x7x28. just wondering would you use it or do you prefer the scopes made specific to crossbows. im still working on getting the crossbow but im wondering if i should throw this scope on it or put it on my plinker 22 rifle. thanks!

lo -

Well, if you think about it...why not just give it a try ?!
I've tried several different sights and scopes on my different crossbows attempting to find which sight/scope I like on which bow.

If you don't like it...you take it off and try another...!

It's not like you are welding them on.
I've got a shot gun scope on one of my bows, I like that one there, but I probably would not put it on other bows.

I've got a Leupold VX II 2xX7x w/ xbow reticules Danny Miller had converted by a co. no longer doing same. I love it. The variable magnification makes it work just like a Vari or Lumizone. Mine is set around 2x depending on arrow weight.

There's other companies doing reticule conversions, but I'm not familiar w/ them.

The real key are the multiple aiming points. That is why a crossbow scope is nice. With a Lumizone or Varizone, those multiple aiming points are able to be adjusted with the power ring. In addition, it is nice to have your turrets set up for a crossbow. I think my varizone turrets are 1/2 " at 20 yards per click. As you can see that is much coarser that a riflescope's turrets. There is just something easier to me about adjusting 2 clicks vs. 16 with a 1/4@100 riflescope.

The Hawke scope is getting a lot of chatter lately on another site.

I use a Cabelas pine ridge black powder 2 by 7 with the diamond, dead on at 25 yards and the bottom of the diamond is dead on at 35 yards which is my limit. Very nice scope, works good for me.
