Rick's got them lined up and I can't find squat. Post a pic for us old boys bud. I wanna know what they look like!!
It was a beautiful morning out there even if it was as quiet as death. Sat in a to SMALL pop-up blind. I have to stick the Xbow thru the window the darn thing is so small. I did have a raccoon as big as my dog try and join me in the blind.I don't know what his problem was but I think he may have moved in since I set the blind. I thought I was gonna have to kill him but I decided that it would have to be hand to hand as I could not have turned around with the Xbow.
Keep hunting boys.. Not sure if I should job hunt(laid off) or deer hunt tommorrow but I bet the old ball and chain has a few ideas.
Ever notice the older you get the colder you get. 40 degrees out and I was still cold by 9AM..
Here's the 9 ..............

Congrats Rick! That is a fine looking deer! I am always amazed when I see that Ten Point Cocked! I tend to think of it when in my ground blind. What arrow and head did you use? Again, congrats!

Well, it's a raining again... I'm going to go out to the water treatment plant lake & have a look around. We also have quite a large semi-urban deer population here. I've seen probably hundreds over the last several years back there. In the winter you'll see big herds of 'em.

It's the Desert Stryker. Several inches smaller than the Tenpoint when cocked. Rocket Slammerhead with a 5 grain brass washer to get it up to 100 grains. The Slammerheads weigh 95 grains or so, not 100. They are a 1.75 inch 3 blade cut and neither deer went more far. They also shoot through mesh in blinds really well out to 40 yds or so if you double rubber band them. Using the 22" Stryker arrows that were refletched with blazer 2" and wraps done by Greywolf. They fly really nice and the broadhead hits well out to the 50 yds mark. I haven't gone past that to test.

Tornado siren ran me out of the blind yesterday. I guess the weather can be too bad to hunt sometimes!

Buckhunter46755 10-18-2007 07:03 PM

RE: Your Hunt Today! Lets Hear it! Season II

Nothing again tonite... It was very windy this evening. Then it started clouding and got really dark with lots of lightning. By the time I got home the tornado sirens were going off. We are under a tornado warning right now as I type. N.E. Indiana. Crazy weather. I think the deer where laying low.... I think I'm going to try to get permission for a different erea. Hope everyone else is at least seeing something. Maybe tomarrow or the weekend will be better. It's supposed to be nice out, but pretty warm again. Wish it would drop down to "normal" temps here....Every year it stays warm longer and the winters are milder. It's nothing like when I was a kid. It used to get cold....real cold. And lots of snow. Now a days we're lucky to get 3 weeks of ice fishing up here..The last few years we have had a few 50-60 degree days in January!!!

Cooler temps here too. Wind finally died down here. Have a good feeling about tonite. I found my blind 200 yards away where the wind blew it day before! It pulled the stakes right out! I thought someone had stolen it at first...

well I went out for some hogs today. Very windy out. I found a hog with some good 1 1/2 inch cutters on him out at 27 yard I took aim and the bolt passed right to the side of his ass. I couldn't believe the wind would effect the bolt that much. Hopefully tommorow I will get one

OK get smirks and chuckles over n done![:o]Where my stand is in the oak it faces south. That means any deer that comes out North will pass by either on my right which is great or on my left which sucks![&o]I am a southpaw and can only turn so fer and then i have to change to right shoulder. Well yesterday afternoon the same 8 pt. came out and went to my left again. I got Miss vixen to right shoulder fer a shot thru all those trees and saplings but was moving real unsteady.[:@]Well i shot and missed, hit a tree about 6 yds. in back of me over left shoulder. [&o]The Buck had walked over the trail i came in on never smelt me never knew i was there and still doesn't. Reckon he thinks it was a limb that cracked or broke. He did leave on the run like a booger was after him!:DIts been pouring bucketfulls of rain water, still is. Temps have dropped to 50 degrees and i am ready to get into those stands. Not while its raining.

After not getting out for a week was able to get out tonight for a evening hunt. Rained alot the past couple of days and was nice out today. Not a bunch of action but did do good on passing what I thought was a doe. Had a deer in the thick stuff moving by at 25 yards or so, but decided it looked a little on small side, I am a major victim ground shrinkage, as most of you know. Well the deer circled around for a while and then came right in and under stand, a button buck, I was happy. Here is a pic of the little guy. Took lots of pics of him and he never new I was there. Will try to go out in morning, but being on nights that is usually a challenge.

Went out to my sisters new place and hunted yesterday afternoon. As we were leaving for town a huge buck ran right across the road from the erea I was hunting!!! At least 12pts, but with a huge body. I think I may set up for firearm season out there. Since you are only allowed to take a buck during gun season. Don't wanna waste my buck stamp yet. But if that bruiser would have walked by me......well.. prolly woulda had to take him. going out to my other place later this afternoon. I gotta be out of there by gun season, someone else hunts it then. I actually got lucky to even get on there this year. Since I promised thefarmer I would take does only, he allowed me on. His daughter and son hunt it farther down the ditch line occasionally.

Rain, Rain, Rain, Rain....And then it rained some more but I took the boys and went anyway. Almost ran over a doe on the wheeler and saw our first yote while out hunting. I thought he was going to give me shot but after walking right at us for 40 yards he step off in the brush and POOF!!!!he was gone. We got loaded up in the truck and left and saw around 15 deer in a small pasture in front of a house just as we were leaving the lease. Was able to pick out two small bucks. We did make more memories just no deerburger yet!!!!!!

Hello everyone! Well I just got exclusive permission to hunt around a 2 acre pond back ina neighbors'woods outby my mothers house. The lady is showing me where allI can set up tomarrow. She said she sees deer EVERY day drinking at the pond!!! She is in the process of transferring over 225 accres of woods back into her name from a relative. She said when that is finished I will also have exclusive hunting rights to that also!!! Wow, this is some very good news for me, becauseI have to have my blind off the property I am at now by Nov 9th, because another guy pistol hunts there starting then. Good luck out there and be safe!!
