I took a friend out from church for our second two day gun season. This is his second time out, but he is still trying to learn how to nottalk with me while in blind. We did not see anything and then decided to walk and show him my stands. We where getting ready to head back to the truck when a doe about ran us over, was running to fast and never gave us a shot. About the time I realized he had no shot here came her motivation, two yotes!! But they seen us before we seen them and made a break in the brush and we to never had a good shot at them. Got the blood pumping, so overall it was a good hunt!

I finally got chance to get out this afternoon
my parents have a feeder right in their back yard, I have a stand up and over a field back behind their house, right on the edge of the field and onthe main trail they use to go back and forth to the feeder(about 400 yards away) and the next woodlot over, and thats where I sat hoping to pick one off heading to the feeder
theres a winter storm watch out for tomorrow buttemp wise it was pretty nice out at first, damp, and no wind, but pretty warm... then a fog rolled in and cut visibility down terrible, then it drizzled, then the fog lifted somewhat, then it drizzled again to the point I was getting a little wet, then the fog came back, then it drizzled again and the wind kicked up, about this time it was starting to get dark and the temp dropped and got very cold but I stuck it out right till the end and still never seen anything anyway
and to top it off when I got back to the housemy parents said the whole heard hadbeen out at the feeder and were there until just before I got back, I must have spooked them coming across the field, they must have come in from the other direction(which is odd)...
so I guess I can say I've had better nights...

Today was Ohio's ML opener. Me and Dad was going to set up in the blind together, maybe get some footage of him getting another deer. Well as I approach the blind I think I jumped up some yotes. So I decided to put the primer on my inline and the bolt was messed up, could not pull it back all the way, took forever to get it worked back and load, then tried to let it down to make sure it was ok, but now its stuck back! So I was in the blind this morning with a broke gun, but we still had fun. Was able to fix it today, the pin that holds the bolt release was broke and the release was all the way up in the bottom of the bolt, new .15 cent pin and back in business. Going back out in the morning with Dad.

Ok so I go out Christmas Day afternoon to try to hunt one more Time, get to my blind settle in and about a half hour later guess what....[:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]
I think my gun loving neighbor to the north got a ML for Christmas, about every 3-5 min BOOM this went on and on and on.It was about 150 yrds from my blind,he must of been shooting west too east, that put a end to it for me.Also someone must of got a new handgun because there was speratic gun fire(10-15 blasts)about a half mile away, that went on for ahalf hour or so.....
Time for me to try andbuy 40-80 acres away from here......Because this is getting old,Did I say I never had a problem till that guy moved in from the Twin City's last year......

James that stinks!
Jason, I keep forgetting to say to you that you are a really lucky guy to be able to hunt with your dad so much! He's not getting more mobile so hunt your faces off and enjoy your one on one time. Remember that life is not a practice run. Take lots of pictures of the right kind so that the two of you can look at them and remember the times better when the sad day comes that he cannot hunt with you any longer and his memory gets short. Can we get a pic of the two of you over your next harvest?
Yes I am jealous!
