i shot mech. one season. as matter of fact i ruined 2 bolts out of my horton legend sl because they opened up right off the bow and sent the bolt into the ground and bent the hell out of it and busted the mech. broad head. i was shooting wasp jackhammer's and even had 2 "o"rings on them like it says if you are over 300fps. still opened up. never again. i shoot fixed blade muzzy 125's. can still group as well as field points for the most part.

Thanks for all the responses so far guys and keep em coming, the more infor for us to share the better. teamster284 I have a friend that said he had the same problem. And thanks for the G5 info bouncer6475 that is one that I am also considering if I dont go to the mechs. A guy a work that is on a different shift spoke to me a shift change on time and was talking about his deer he just shot a few days before and was braging up the G5's he said it is the most accurate broadhead he's ever shot. Thanks again!!

I've taken 20 deer in three years with my Horton Legend. I have never had a Spitfire 100 let me down in any way! I even took a big doe quarting toward me and had it pass through both sides.

same here, only 11 deer.over the years since the spitfires came out it is like 20 deer , with no mishaps.all have been pass thur with awsom blood trail for about 40 yards or so.

last year I took a buck stright through both sholders.I posted the pic's. it broke both sholder bones(looked like an 06 went through them)the deer hit the dirt with his chest and scooted for 40 yards and fell over.

it's like cars , we all have our favorite one.
for me , it's spitfire 100's.
