Default Favorite Goose Recipe...?

All right, what' s the best way to cook a Canada Goose. One old timer told me to take one of those cooking bags. Put the goose in the bag, cook it at 350 until done. Take the goose out, throw away the goose and eat the bag. He swore that was the best way to eat one of those things. Needless to say, I' m sure there is a better way and was wondering what way was your favorite. Thanks for sharing your indeas.

Thats pretty funny, unfortunatley in my opinion, its not far from the truth.
The only way I have had success is in a crock pot. Cut the goose in bite size pieces, wrap them in bacon and secure with a toothpic. Put in crockpot with cream of mushroom soup...and put on low and slow(6-8 hours). Serve over rice or noodles.

How about roasting the goose whole until it is just pink? Or maybe cut the breasts into strips and use as a stirfry, or put those strips on bamboo skewers and put them on the BBQ for 7 minutes(turning every two minutes) and brush with peanut sauce, grinding them up to make BBQ goose burgers, put a bunch of legs and thighs in a crockpot along with a can of stewed tomatoes for 18 hours (on low), different types of goose sausage, pepperoni maybe. I personally like a smoked goose salad. As you can see here, the key to all this is " imagination" . Good luck with the cooking.

Marinade overnight in Italian dressing then cook in the ovenand baste continuously like you would a turkey we have added liquid smoke to the marinade and it gives it a nice smoke flavor. We also take the breast and remove the skin wrap it in bacon and cook it on the grill until slightly pink in the middle. Good luck....

Sitter that sounds like a great way to WASTE perfectly good bacon!!!

Goose just aint worth the time, but neither is most waterfowl. Its all dark meat and to top it off its wild dark meat.

But if you must, breast them out (this is a duck OR goose recipe) and place the breasts on a cutting board and punch them full of holes with a fork. Cover them on each side with Cavenders seasoning and work it into the meat with your hands. Place them in a gallon freezer bag and pour in enough " Dales Steak Marinade" and Itallian dressing to completely saturate and cover the meat. Place in the frige overnight to marinade.

Grill them on low-med heat for only 5 minutes each side until done (it is imperative NOT to let the meat dry out!).

Serve with red wine, steamed vegetables, garlic bread, wild brown rice and a nice scantily clad lady!!!

1. Get " drunker den Cooter Brown"
2. Cook the goose however the hell you want
3. Drink some more
4. Eat the goose
5. Wake up the next morning not remembering a thang cuz that' s the only way you' ll ever eat goose again.

Goose are great table fare. One of my favorites is to cut the brest into 1-2" chunks and marinade overnight in Italian dressing. Next day remove meat and wrap in bacon ,secure with a toothpic. BBQ them until the bacon is cooked and meat is still pink. Great appetizers you won' t be able to make them fast enough. Simply delicious.
