During archery season I normally hunt from a portable stand. If it is really raining or very windy I will switch to a perminant stand or the ground.
During rifle or muzzelloader I almost always hunt from the ground.

Seem to have most of my success from a treestand, probably because that is where most of my hunting is done, but when forced to hunt on the ground I also had luck. Just be extra careful with your scent, and to watch the wind, and should be great hunting from blinds.
