Sorry to hear what happened, I know how it feels. I missed my first deer by under judging the yardage and literlly shaved the hairs off her belly. I also had a shot at a large racked 10 or 12 pointer ( didnt have the chance to count all the tines I was busy judging the yardage and watching the buck until he stepped into my shooting lane) I let the arrow fly and hit a twig and it deflected the arrow and hit a small sapling right next to the buck.Keep your chin up, your time will come .

Don't give up! I shot over two last year.....Got my fist shot this year...
