If the wind can blow it around it will waste a lot of corn. You should be able to tell from any new deer sign if they ate it or not.
In east Texas we use what's called "pipe feeders" 4in. PVC strapped to a tree and it is not uncommon at all for the deer to eat 50lbs in 2 or 3 days (when they are on it good). We use electric feeders also but have killed many more deer over the pipe feeders. The deer just seen to fear them less...

I like to let my hunting partner feel as though he knows what he is talking about. I had actually been studying deer for years, but I let him think I didn't know "diddly" so he would feel good about his own intelligence. "Oh, so thats what a deer looks like??" "Oh, you should setup between their bedding areas and where they feed??" Thanks for the help and open wide BEOOOOTTCCHH!!!!

If racoons can reach that thing, that's probably where all your corn is going. I've got a pipe feeder and racoons will empty it of 25 pounds in one night. They don't eat it all but they can't stand for any to be left in the feeder. After they've wallered in it and peed in it the deer won't eat it. I've captured alot of racoons at my feeder but there seems to be more racoons than I got traps. the only good thing about it is the deer will come out and feed in daylight more often because they know them coons are coming later. By the way, this feeder is in the corner of my yard so I don't hunt it.

We started a feed program on our farm this year. Let me tell you, the deer (and the racoons) can put away some feed! We used a mixture of goat chow, corn and molasses. We had two feeding locations about 400 yards apart located in the middle of the farm. We didn't start until late May or early June and we went through nearly 3 tons of feed (that's about $1,000 worth). We stopped feeding around Aug 20th, when the antler development is complete for the most part. Anyway, we would fill the feeders every 3 - 4 days with 150 - 300 pounds of feed and generally one of the locations would completely empty while the other one would have maybe 1/2 of the feed left. Since this is our first year trying the feed program, I don't know what the outcome will be. We also have a nice alfalfa field that gets worked over pretty hard as well. Then add in all the persimmons that are getting ripe, the natural browse and the upcoming mast crop, we should be in fine shape as far as feed is concerned.
