Doe or Buck Decoy

Default Doe or Buck Decoy

Im thinking of purchasing a decoy what do you think would be best a doe or buck. im in mississippi so we do not have the size bucks that are up north. The rut has not started here yet.

Since your hunting prerut ,I would say that either would be good .A buck will draw a fight from another buck but since the buck's will be looking for doe's soon I'd then use a doe decoy.
Either should do the job. When using your doe decoy be sure to spray it with scent eliminator and then put some doe estrus around her ,and when using a buck use scent eliminator and a buck lure around him.
Buck for pre rut and doe as your getting close to and on the rut ,but both will work at this time .

If you're looking for a 3d decoy I would get one with detachable antlers. That way you can use it as both. When using it as a buck I would only attach one antel so it looks like a subordinate buck.

Flambeau sales a doe decoy and a antler kit to make it into a buck.
