I have decided to try to use a decoy this year and I am not sure whether to use it as a doe along with bleats and estrous scent or as a buck with buck lure and grunts. My main areasthat I huntare along buck travel routes between two bedding areas. I usually see bucks around 10-11am. I will also be hunting at the peak of the rut. What decoy, call, scent set up has worked best for some of you?

I have a Montana doe decoy , it seemed to make the bucks nervous and definitely ran off a doe . I'd go with a buck deke right now , they're about as interested in fighting as they are ...er... you know right now .

I agree that right now they are interested in fighting but what about when the rut starts and they start going after does. Would they be more receptive to a buck in their territory or a doe in heat?
