Default wild pig meat

I got a pig on Sunday, as I was taking the back strap out and hams off I noticed what seamed to be a cancer spot just under the skin and then noticed that one of its tits was very swollen. I wasn't on the meat and the pig seamed healthy. Is the meat still good

Excellent question. I however have no idea. I am very interested in seeing what others would say. If it were me I would probably not use it until I talked to a local bucher or someone like that and got an answer.

I would call the state wildlife biologist. They should be able to tell you. Just a thought.

I haven't run across anything like that YET. I'd also call the state biologist and find out. If the meat did not smell bad or look bad I might try it.

I have seen places like that every now and then on some of our hogs. We just cut the bad parts out and eat the good. May not be the best thing to do but that how we do it.

Rush after years of working in a hog confinement I have seen many sows that had hard lumps in there teats. What it is called is mastitis and it isn't at all a threat to you. I would be happy to take the meat off yer hands if you would like me 2. Been dying to try some good old wild pork.
