I have been looking at getting a new Lone Wolf climber. Is anyone using one of these? Is it as good as a Summit for weight and portablitiy? How comfortable is it with the metal seat with the pad on it? How about set up time and how stable is it in the tree. Thanx for any imput....

parker1, you will find most guys on this board are biased towards the summit line, and for good reason. However, lonewolf makes a great stand. I have one of the lock on stands and I absolutely love it. Based on it's design, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a climber.

Parker,
I have have owned Summit stands and currently own a LW climber. Both are rock solid stands. I prefer the LW because of the portability but in large because it is quieter. No hollow tubing to have something bang against and make noise. I don't have a problem with the seat either.

Lone wolf are good stands.. but they sure are proud of them... I can't see spending $350 for a simple climbing stand... when you can get something equal or better for $150-200.
