I am planning a trip to PA sometime in October to visit my Grandparents and hunt in Armstrong and Clarion Cty. November is not an option for me to take this trip and my options are the weeks of Oct 5th, Oct 12th, Oct 19th, or Oct 26th. I was thinking the last week of Oct so I could maybe get some pre rut action but saw the moon is going to be full so now I am not sure. What would you guys choose?

the hunters moons is Oct. 28th this year. i am reading alsheimers book, whitetail hunting by the moon and says to hunt 3 days before and 4 days after the 28th. so i would def take the week of the 26th. you can bet where i will be for that week

I HOPE HORNTAGGER post his predictions on the moon phases and rut again like last year. I though they were really good and I'd like to plan from those again!
HORNTAGGER....are you out there?
Thanks

IMHO the moon has little to do with hunting. the deer are going to breed. photoperiod is what decides the rut, not the moon. i'd hunt that last week in october to get in the pre rut action, i dont know what peak rut in PA is, but around here, last week in october is great for rattling up bucks. thats my two cents.

Don't worry about the moon-go for the last week of Oct.If you're hunting public land, you'll most likely be sharing the woods with muzzleloaders that week.

I don't know if the moon will change anything but my experience in PA for the last 15 years of bowhunting there the last week of Oct. has always been good. The amount of deer activity & sightings really picks up then. With that said hunting a full moon always rots but I will be there that week anyway giving it my best!
