I'll be the oddball here. I don't like hunting in open areas at all. I don't mind hunting travel routes to and from.

BobCo19... I don't like hunting in the open either... but the thing is it becomes the primary year round food source. The to and from gets more activity than it would otherwise.

I also hunt the thicker stuff, but thats because I only bow hunt now. I did bow and black powder for a while now it just bow. If I were to gun hunt I'd go right in the middle of a clearing or logging road where the view is long. I did some scouting this week and can see the deer are running everywhere. There are a few old runs still in use on the outer edges inside the forest line but didn't find the sweet spot yet. Next time I'll go over to the other end. Its too bad deer didn't like ferns as much as alpalfa!
