I've done the same shot and had ample blood
with hardly a couple inches of penetration.
where did the blood come from, I came to the
the conclusion he was coughing it up from the wound, don't give up on him!!!

Taz,
One can easily see by examining the trajectory angle of the arrow shaft in your pic, that you did make a very "ethically correct" shot this time! <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle> "RED is DEAD"

Lab Man: That's my kill picture. Don't go giving credit to TAZ. He let his get away. Thanks for the compliment but, I don't hunt these wild critters to recieve praises from others. I do it purely for the joy of living with the flora.

If I were you, I'd much rather hunt the elusive watermelon! Much more "bang for your buck"! Chickens love-em for their much larger seeds also! And, if you have a "non-vital" hit, they be comin up the tree AFTER YA!!! SO BE CAREFUL!

Oh man, you guys don't know what you're missing if you haven't gone after the wily yellow cherry variety !!!! Of course up here in Wisconsin, the season doesn't start until about late July or August. They are much more of an elusive game than the larger cousins, or big boys. They can blend in much better with the flora also. they have a smaller kill zone also, which makes them a harder shot, you really have to practice to bag one of these buggers !!!!
