Has anyone seen any toxicity data or discussion on the iron-nickel-tungsten Heavi Shot relative to toxic lead and nontoxic steel shot? Based upon these elements, it should be of relatively low-to-no toxicity. In a related manner, have any of you tried the new bismuth shot as a heavy (much more than steel) nontoxic alternative to lead for turkey hunting? If so, how does it pattern?

I notice all the Bismuth and Heavy shots pattern tighter than lead. I love heavy shot, just can' t justify the price for turkey. Tried a few times. Did well, but so did my lead. As far as toxicity, don' t worry so much about it. A little lead never hurt anyone. I ate all that lead paint as a kid and I feel right as rain.
Besides those occasional shakes I get. Just jokin around

AS FAR AS JUSTIFYING HEVISHOT FOR TURKEYS,I LOOKED AT IT LIKE THAT AT FIRST.HOWEVER,I ONLY SHOOT 3 SHELLS PER SEASON SO THAT IS ABOUT $6.A BOX OF 10 LAST FOR 3+ SEASONS.SMALL INVESTMENT CONSIDERING HOW FAR YOU CAN TAKE A BIRD THAT YOU WOULD NOT HAVE SHOT AT BEFORE.JMO.
