If the outfitter is already booking out 1-2 years why worry about extra publicity?

Chuck wasn't lucky - he earned everything he has from what i can tell and sacrificed much more than any of us ever would for it.

Because this is public land and anyone who wants to hunt it can. There is no way for that outfitter to stop you.
Wolfkiller, I meant it the other way, if the outfitter is booked up for a year to two all the time, he doesn't want or need the publicity, the public land is just that much more of a reason to NOT want it.

Sorry about that.[&:] I should have read your post instead of just glimpsing at it. I think you are 100% correct.

I also have met and visited with Chuck Adams and think he is a great guy. I also am friends with the outfitter who guides Chuck for elk hunting. I can tell you this I wouldn't want to have my name out there for everybody and their dog to call me to elk hunt. As for Montana producing record book animals, I have seen the elk on the ranch and can guarantee that they are free ranging wild elk. They did not come from any game farms because they (the game farms) were closely monitored by the Montana fish and game regarding their removal or disposal. The elk herds are growing very well in Montana esp. with the mild winters lately.

I think Chuck probably has a bow hunters dream job, if hunting was the only thing we had to do. I although wouldn't want the deadlines for the articles and stories that need to be written.

I also get to go bow hunitng with Chuck this spring for bear. I can't wait.

Just my 2 cents

I first met Chuck Adams years ago at a bow festival in PA. He lived up to every expectation I had and was a great guy to talk to. He even stepped out of his booth, knelt down on one knee and put an arm around each of my two young sons I had with me for a picture. He smiled that smile he's famous for and even signed the picture of him, "thanks for the tips Dave!." Of course, I ASKED him to write that!
