This past season was my first bow hunting and I had one possible P&Y buck on the edge of my bow range about 30 yards so I didn't try I thought I might just injure him. So he's still out there and I'll be out there next year but I'll be practicing out to 40 yards.

Hey Archerywiz, the question was residential or in sticks. I live in the sticks (or close to it) but go to residential to hunt. You've got nice deer hanging and the only other collection I've seen like it was one of my hunting friends who wrote the book on residential hunting.

Ive seen 4 Pope and Young and shot 3 in the last 2 years. ( one was to far ) The past 2 years is the first time I've ever just hunted for, and targeted Trophy Bucks. I'm hunting the same land I've hunted for 18 years. In the first 16 years, I shot one P @ Y and thats the only one I saw. In fact I hardly ever even saw a buck. Hunting for Trophies and targeting them gives, you a much better chance!
good Luck!

3 - shot at 2 missed both times - nerves and young!!!! - no shot a third deer -
Hunted 20 yrs - central NY - Same 400 acres.
Been close a couple times in last few years - but these deer are around 100P&Y - not big enough.
