RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
Interesting, seems like I remember this rearing its head sometime in the past too. ;)
Sad part is, no one cares one way or the other, they didn't then and they don't now - the bottom line is $$ and ethics and doing the right thing has nothing to do with it. This site gladly accepts money from canned killing preserves and calls it Hunting. It is not, and never will be hunting. Its legal slaugter, no different than killing a cow or a pig - but nobody calls stock yards "hunting" do we ? Its growing in popularity will be a great asset to Anti-hunters everywhere. So yes, the site you are a "member" of advocates and endorses canned "hunting". If you care about it, you are in the minority and nobody here cares one way or the other anyway. Accpet that, and go on, theres little else you can do no matter how wrong it is. |
RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
bowarrior - What do you think of a "hunting" site that has those types of "hunts" as sponsors ? Kinda hypocritcal, don't you think ? Its like an anti-fur company selling furs, or a anti-alcohol company owning a liquor store IMO

RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
I think it's hypocritical to be indignant about this, but to keep using the services of the site. If it is truly that offensive to someone, then they shouldn't be utilizing this particular site. They should be patronizing another site that has similar benefits, but different sponsors. JMO

But Muskrat...... it's the off season for a lot of folks. We got to have something to "beesh" about. Nyuck nyuuck Nyuck....
And another thing. These shouldn't be called hunts, but rather slaughter... just like in a slaughter house. Herd them into the old corral and "TWACK" you're it. I don't care for a lot of things other hunters but I support them because they are hunters.... |
RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
:DI'm gettin ready for a "canned" hunt next weekend. Hand raised hogs. My success rate better be 100% and I will take 3 animals.
In this case am I the farmer? or hunter?[8D] |
RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
Canned hunts are LEGAL,plain and simple.I don't and won't hunt this way but some do and that is their choice.Surely there has to be a better and faster way to separate and divide the few remaining sportsman that are left.[&o]If we're not bitching about canned hunts then we're bitching about each others ethics or methods--where does it end?Maybe everyone would be happy if they just did away with hunting all together?Believe it or not we are all on the same side in the big picture.I think if we keep finding things to fight over maybe we can eliminate all forms of outdoor activities that involve the use of weapons.

RE: Huntingnet Promotes Hunts Behind Fences!
I have no real issue with people killing animals on these farms. My beef is they are trying to sell this as a hunt equal to wild animals. Why else would they say fair chase rules apply? How could they? These places are the future of hunting in some peoples eyes. If you want real hunting to continue we need to keep these activities separate. Why would anyone want to hand ammunition to the anti-hunters? I don't defend poachers or unethical hunters for the same reason. Anti-hunters claim we don't care about the animal, we are lazy and it's all about killing and bragging. When it comes to canned hunts THEY ARE RIGHT.
The arguments we use to defend hunting do not apply to game farms. Keep in mind it's not us vs. the anti-hunting crowd, it both sides trying to influence the non-hunting public's perception. It is they after all who will determine if we can hunt in the future. They are the majority, we are a minority. Watch The Guns of Autumn for a real perspective and you'll know what I mean. Besides the public perception of hunting game farms also have other issues like diseases and genetic pollution to consider too. |
