I' ve heard a buck clicking on video too. It was one of those mechanized decoys the DNR sets up to catch poachers in the act.

I' ve seen the Drury brothers imitate that sound on one of their videos. They make the sound on their grunt call and it' s a kind of clicking or popping sound.

So my grandfather was right when he told me this noise was made from a bucks breeding frustrations. I have heard this noise made probably a dozen times in my 17 years of bowhunting and it was always from a smaller buck.
