Hunting this week in poor weather
What' s your take on hunting in miserable weather (wind and heavy rain) this week? I' m taking part in a shotgun hunt this week in NJ and the forecast for Wednesday and Thursday is for heavy winds and rain...50-60 degrees. It' ll be sloppy, but I' m a hunter and williing to hunt in anything. I have my waders and my tree umbrella to keep me dry. My real question is do you think the deer will be on the move with the bad weather or do you think they will bed down?
It' s right in the middle of the rut here. so my guess is the bucks will be really moving about regardless of the wind or rain.
Your thoughts?
p.s. Most hunters in this area will probably call it quits by 10AM if the bad weather persists, but I will hang in there in hopes those hunters push deer on their way out.

If you can dress for the weather and stay comfortable enough to put up with it, put in the hours ! That big one might come by and make you forget all about the lousy weather ..........

I always seem to catch the deer feeding in the hardwoods durring rain showers. I' m not sure about driving rain and high winds as I' d be one of those hunter pushing deer to you on my way back to camp. If you can hang in there I won' t hurt to be in the woods.
