I have this spot that I' ve been granted permission to bow hunt 3 years ago. The woods on the place aren' t that great to hunt(especially compared to some of my other spots) Last season I found a hot acorn flat and shot a buck there. This season the place was dead, and i barely hunted it at all. I feel bad for not hunting it so much, and don' t want to annoy the landowner or give the impression I don' t appreciate being allowed there. I offer help on the farm in all otherways, but I just don' t know if they are slighted cause I don' t hunt there too much?

Ryan,
I would talk with the landowner and explain that you are keeping an eye on the property for increased activity. I am sure he would understand that you don' t want to waste your precious hunting time if the property does not show potential.
Perhaps he could point you to overlooked areas where he has been seeing deer? I know that the landowners I hunt on want the deer killed and are very free with advice about where the deer hang out.
Good luck.
