Several doubles with shotgun. Triple with rifle (took me four shots, the third hit a branch). But not with a bow. I shot a doe this year off the stand, it was early so I waited. Had another doe and two fawns come by, stopping under my stand. Unsure of the hit on the first doe, so I passed on the others. The evening ahead was going to be long enough tracking one deer (turned out my brother hit one as well so we had 2 to track).

I' ve had it happen once. I took two does with an hour of each other. I shot the first one and had a complete pass through at about 20 yards. She ran about 30 yards and I could see the spot where she crashed and died. I waited about 45min on my stand just to be sure. Just as I stood up to start climbing down I could see another doe coming about 75 yards away. I hurried up and knocked an arrow and was able to get a 16 yard shot as she passed by. She went about 40 yards and then crashed. Worked out well. Both deer were within 40 yards of one another.

Almost did Yesterday morning! I shot a button buck and he dropped about 30 yards from my tree and I waited before I got down and was amazed at a Huge 8 point pop up and walk over to the deer that was down and sniffed him for a minute then walked off. This was my first kill ever then this monster walks up, I was shaking like you would believe! [:-]

I taken two deer the same hunt(day) three times. I' ve had numerous chances. I' m a firm believer in waiting after a hit. Even on what looks like a perfect shot I give it an hour. Often 2 hours. I see deer very often while waiting.

Good luck!

I have ' bent' the rules on a road hit deer also. I passed a couple guys on the highway one evening trying to kill a small buck by hitting it in the head with a hammer. The deer had it' s back legs broken and was trying to drag itself across a 4 lane highway with it' s front legs. It was both comical and sad watching these guys trying to avoid be horned. I did a quick u-turn and pulled over. By then the deer had managed to make it to the berm and I just walked up behind him grabbed him by one antler and cut his throat. The sheriffs dept. showed up just as I was finishing field dressing. He advised me it was against the law for me to kill the deer and he could take me jail. I told him there was no way I was going to let the deer suffer and would do it again, then I walked back to my truck and went home.

My buddy Len scored a Hat Trick this AM with his bow. Two nice 8 points and a fat doe. I guess that' s as good as a second one on the same hunt. Check out the Thread " In Hurry.... Len' s Triple......"
