Getting rid of new clothes smell
In the past, just throwing them in with my other hunting clothes has worked. However, I bought a new long sleeve camo shirt for the early season and can' t get it scent free. It' s been washed 3 or 4 times in scent-free detergent along with baking soda. It' s been hung on the clothes line for a week and a half and rained on AND I tried using the dryer on it too--AND IT STILL HAS THE NEW CLOTHES SMELL. I realize that the early season is long past, but I could have used it today because the temps are supposed to hit 68. Any ideas?

Is it synthetic material or mostly cotton ? I' ve never had a problem with cotton, but some of those synthetic materials can drive you nuts.
Buy another (cotton) shirt. Bury this one in some mud for a week, wash, and check.
If that doesn' t work, tie it to a skunk.
If that' s not an option, you now have a nice camo shirt to wear while cutting the grass.

I' d try to soak it out. get some scent away cover scent and soak the shirt thouroughly in it for a day, then rinse and hang dry should do the trick it' s worked for me b4 but on a poly' cotton blend that was tough to de-scent.
Hope it works for ya

Are you hunting in an area with cedars or spruce trees ? Rubbing cedar or spruce boughs on your clothes leaves a strong scent that might mask the new clothes smell ...........
Good Luck !
