That definitely is a sad situation and I can imagine myself feeling the same way that you did. Your hands were pretty much tied unless you used your tag. Is there any chance you could have called the local game warden to humanely dispose of the animal?

Here in Iowa, you just the Sheriff' s department. They would have sent a Deputy to finish him, and yep, they would have offered him to you or taken him to the local homeless food shelter.

I would like to make a video on the misery that car/deer hits cause and mail it to PETA. Kind of like " Faces of Death" in the deer world. After that they might start buying bullets for us.
