I had a young deer spot me this weekend when I went to draw on another deer. I froze and the deer lost me. It was about ten yards away and started looking around trying to find what it was that moved. It could not pin-point were I was even after it saw me move. All the deer did was calmly walk away. I was wearing a 3D leaf pattern. It is one of the mesh kind you put over your other clothes. The ASAT does look like it would work great but I think what I have is pretty good after that experience.

Jeremy,
I will chime in on the size issue......Ausie isn' t an XL anything so he' s not qualified to comment.

I guess I' m on the bubble myself between XL and 2XL (6' 3" 240lbs w/ a 34" inseam 36" waist) and I got the 2XL Vanish Pro ASAT based upon sleeve length and how wide my shoulders are (I hate when jacket wrists slide up when moving. )Well it' s BIG. Not toooooo big the jacket isn' t bad at all, but I can pull the pants up to my armpits and the cuffs are still at the ankles!
You should be more than safe with the 2XL.
I would probably actually need a 2XL top with a reg XL bottom....but it' s all good! Stuff looks great and I can layer to the moon underneath when it gets cold.
Not sure if you can mix and match pants/jacket?

Ausie,
A PM will be on the way shortly but before I go there, I seem to have inadvertently run into the same dilemna that has been mentioned in the last few posts. I am almost exactly the same size as Matt (though at a lighter 226 lbs as of yesterday...
). I normally order a 2XL shirt/jacket, etc.. with a pair of Xtra large pants (36-38 inch waist, 34 inch inseam). Which size, XL or 2XL do you think I should order?...and along those same lines, can I throw that leafy-wear outfit on top of my existing camo outfits (jacket, pants, etc...)??

Frank,
I already stated that Ausie isn' t qualified for things XL!
He' s like 5' 3" and 95 lbs for cryin out loud. Ever see " Dorf on Golf" ?
Anyway, for sure the 2XL suit will go over everything you have plus the kitchen sink if you need it. The 2Xl jacket will be fine, mine is VERY comfortable with no binding or wrists sliding up......The 2Xl pants are fine too. The pants are cut wide and long, which actually helps in a treestand when you are climbing and bending, they don' t bind at all.
I have no idea how the regular XL pants would fit, but the 2XL will give you room to play with......let me rephrase that.......room to grow........again, let me rephrase. You' ll have some extra room for layers.[
]
Plus you won' t feel like you are going to rip them when you have to fiddle with the straps on your treestand etc.
The supplied HEadnet is terrific too. It contours your hat and has a drawstring back that keeps it snug to your face. Best headnet of any kind that I' ve used yet.
I would still order the 2Xl myself if I had to do it again.

Frank, I ordered XL, and it easily goes over my XL cabelas dry plus insulated revolution fleece pullover you turned me onto last year. Easily, with no binding feelings whatsoever. I cut two slits in the mesh to access the pullover handwarmer pocket, works great...
XL pants also easly pull over my XL dry plus insulated silent suede overalls. Once on, can' t really tell they' re there.
Under the pullover and bibs, I' ve worn several layers. Never had a problem with the ASAT suit not fitting or being too constricting.
What are you ASAT wearers wearing for gloves with the suit?

They might not be warm enough for the really cold days up north but they are just fine for down here.

Reading this whole topic just cracks me up. Who are we trying to hide from the deer or people? If you wanted to know which food source the deer preferred would you taste all of them and decide which one you think the deer would like? (Yummy, this bark tastes just like chicken). I just watch the deer. They tell us which food they like. They also tell us what they can see easily. You can' t convince people to try ASAT because they don' t think it looks like it will " blend in" . Who cares what it looks like if it really works. I figure I will just try it and see for myself. If the deer that I hunt decide they don' t like it, I can get a refund. What more could I ask for? My " other" camo never came with any guaranty. I am still ticked that I haven' t gotten mine yet. Crappy time for a backorder.
And Matt, quite making fun of us " little people" [>:].
