That is probably the dumbest question I' ve read in a while. A True Outdoorsman would not even think of taking liquor/beer in the woods. I' d say that 99% of bowhunters are the type of people who love the outdoors, watching the sunrise and then watching it set, pick up other peoples litter and appreciate the natural woods. Water is my choice of beverage in the stand. But, after I' m outta the woods, there is nothing like drinking an ice cold beer with the buddies...

Ok, I confess I did it once and it was before deer season. I had climbed a permanent stand and had a 1/2 pint of 101 proof southern comort. It was a month before the season started, it was a cool evening, and I just had an itching to get in the woods and I' m not sure why I carried the alcohol but I did and I drank it. I was single at the time and alot younger and was probably drinking too much and having too much fun at that time in my life. Anyway, as fate would have it, when it came time to get down, I fell about 12 feet, landed on my back and knocked the breath out of me. I thought I was killed but as luck would have it, I was just stupid. I didn' t have a gun or anything but it was still a stupid thing to do and a lesson I shouldn' t have had to learn was learned. I will not allow beer or any type of alcohol anywhere near my hunting camp or area whatsoever. I once sent my brother and nephew (his son) packing because I found out that they had a six pack of beer in the back of their truck. They know the rules and that is one that is not open for discussion. If they want to celebrate after the hunt, go somewhere else and do it and do not show back up till all possible after effects are gone.

Geez 8PT...lighten up a little. No beer or anything even after a day of hunting? That' s down right cruel. So if you shot a buck of a lifetime you wouldn' t have a drink on hand to celebrate?

8 pt sounds like a recovering Alcoholic or it' s against his religous beliefs to me Wolfen. If you owned the camp it' s your right 8 pt if not I would have told you to stuff it and cracked a beer.
Never have taken a drink while I was hunting, after hunting is a different story.

well hang on now... in 8pt' s defense, You' d have to inquire what was in/around the camp. An drunken idiot in the field is just as dangerous as a drunken idiot in camp! Specialy if there' s gun' s around or other weapons around (people' s side arms and such)...
