I still think it' s a ridiculous post. We can talk about it and talk about it and you know what. It' s not going to matter one bit to the guy who drinks on stand. If you are drinking on stand you are more than likely an alcoholic and what we say here has no bearing on that person whatsoever. I stand by my previous assertion that this is a simple minded post and should be discontinued.

I used to drink on stand but after reading this post I feel like a new man! I will no longer drink and hunt.
Jimimac, from now on everyone else and I should check with you before posting to see if you think it will have a positive feedback on the readers! While I' m speaking to you I' ll get my idea out of the way; What do you think about a question post regarding the users broadhead choice?
Just playin with ya bro but seriously you never know who is reading and the power of words writen from the great people on this MB.
Just to set the record strait I don' t approve of drinking while hunting. I love the commercial, " When the hunt is through, this buds for you." Nothin like a cold beer when the hunt is over.

i know a hog hunter that does....i won' t hunt with him .....though he doesn' t carry a firearm while hunting, it still is not even cool..........not too mention illegal.....i se too many beer cans while out hunting, working, scouting....it does happen and i' m sure we all know someone that does it....we just have to show that we as ethical hunters do not condone(sp?) this type of behavior..... i think it' s a good post , like Matt / PA said " if it stops one person from drinking while out hunting, it was well worth it" ...not his exact words but you know what i mean

Hey folks, I have been out of town for the weekend and just caught back up on this post. Maybe I need to do a little explaining on my first reply. First off, I am not a recovering alcoholic or any other kind of alcoholic. Second, I am not what would be considered an overly religious person. I occasionally enjoy a cold beer but never really developed a taste for it. I have seen too many cases of people that would not or could not controll or limit their drinking and the effects of the morning after hangover and actions while drinking. My brother happens to be one that has had this problem.
Rather than have to go through the conversation of " Why is it OK for so-and-so to have a beer and not me?" , I just make it blanket policy. By the way, I do own the camp and feel I can do this. When it comes to some things like this it is " MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY" No offense intended to anyone.
