What is appealing about Bowtech?

SA,
Aye, we will have to agree to disagree. I do not dis-value a quiet bow, I just believe it's not the biggest part of the equation.
Any of the Mathews Q series bows should fit your bill. If performance is not a concern then you might also look into the Pearson/McPherson lines. Very smooth, and they make my Q2 sound like a gun.
The new Hoyt's w/ Excel cams are very quiet too, an UltraTec or Pro-tec should fit the bill.
PSE's new Enforcer suprised me as well.

No problem Jeff. I didn't expect this thread to get so many replies. When I am in the market for a new bow, after reading this I am going to be sure and find a Bowtech dealer and check them out for myself. Besides, looking at a website is not like having one in hand.

PABowHntr,
Actually, I looked at the Denali, but was turned off by the split limbs. Not because of durability or accuracy issues, but because it always look like a good place for a limb or twig to get caught while still-hunting. I make all of my bow decisions based solely on hunting, because it's by far what's most important to me. Maybe split limbs aren't a nuisance in the brush, but I was guessing that they might be. Outside of that it looks great.
Jeff,
I'm not sure what you mean by performance. If it's means speed, that's okay. If it means being able to hit what I'm aiming at, then they wouldn't be acceptable. I'll have to put them on my list of bows to check out.
Stodr,
The Patriot does sound like a bow to check out. If Bow Tech continues to improve it's bows in the area of hand shock, then they might be just what I'm looking for.
In the ideal world, I could own two new bows. One designed strictly for hunting and the other more geared towards target. I'm just not sure I can justify it to my wife.
Thanks for the input guys.

Frank?......Me?.......Fishing?.......NEVER.
I couldn't help that comparison mainly because there seems to be a lot of members familiar with that bow and HOYT in general.
You know what I was saying......A 30" 70# Havoctec at like 1lb. of mass weight
is going to inherently have more recoil than a bow like the "Pro38" at the same specs due to the much heavier mass weight and the riser configuration of the longer bow......No cheap shots at your baby I promise!
I finally got to shoot the Havoctec as a friend of mine is now shooting that bow.......it was kinda hard to evaluate it at 65# and 28" draw.......you sort of have to "Scrunch" into if you know what I mean.
It was really pretty nice.....a beautiful looking little bow w/ a matching "Doinker" style factory Hoyt stabilizer which matched the camo perfectly for the "Fashion Concious" hunter.
(Why aren't you shooting that stablizer?...It balanced really well and seemed to work great)
It has a really cool riser and it's light as a feather, smooth and quiet.
Not a bad choice I must say!.......but guess what? My best friend has a BowTech "Tech29" at 70# & 28" that is just as smooth and quiet with the same arrow weight.....and regardless of draw weight the "Tech29" is FASTER!! (of course!)
The Hoyt DID draw nicer however(but like I said it's not easy to compare when there is a 5# difference in draw weight)......Is the Versacam their "Smooth" cam?
My buddy who owns the Havoctec also shot the exact "Tech29" I mentioned and will back up my statements if I'm under oath!
I really wish they made their 34" ATA and under bows in a 31" option so you could see for yourself.......You'd LOVE a "Mighty Mite"......a Tech29 would look pretty crazy at a draw length 2" over the ATA!!
But the Patriot sounds like the one to beat this year really......I can't wait to shoot it, just to shoot it. Buying really isn't in the cards at the moment if you know what I mean?!

SA,
. If performance is not a concern then you might also look into the Pearson/McPherson lines. Very smooth, and they make my Q2 sound like a gun.
Is there something wrong with the performance of Pearson/Mcpherson bows?
I'm on my second Pearson and couldn't be more pleased.

Dylan.....Don't make me come up there!
You are right when you make the statement, "Speed = poor shootability on some bows"..... True "Speed" bows in the past with 5" brace heights and HIGHLY reflexed risers were a real "Treat" to shoot accurately......I should know I had a PSE "G-Force" and a "Baby-G". These 2 are about the top heap of this style bow......loud, very touchy, and grumpy animals....all of which are basically obsolete because there are dozens of bows on the market today that will do what these bows of just a few years ago could do.....only now they do it QUIETER, with less effort on the archers part, higher brace heights......and are actually FASTER.(some MUCH faster)
Technology of today is truly amazing even compared to 1995-96.
You then run into todays version of these bows......the Mathews "Black Max" (which in my opinion is a HORRIBLE bow).......
Which brings me to the only truly touchy bow BowTech offers.......the low brace height "Black KnightII".
As stated many times throughout this thread, a bow is only as accurate as (how did Jeff put it?) the jerk behind the bow.
That said ANY bow with a sub 6" brace height is going to be much more suceptible to form flaws......and the BKII is no exception, but if you want the UNBELIEVABLE speed that this bow offers and are a good archer with above average form......hey go for it!!
I'm sure there are guys out there who could hunt butterflies with the thing, but I'm not one of them......definitely not a bow for everyone. 350fps comes at a price.
Every other bow in the BowTech lineup offers the speed with the inherent shootablity of higher brace heights.....and now 5 models are also on the longer riser/short limb style which will help stability as well.....
Like I said.....A win/win.
