I couldn't help that comparison mainly because there seems to be a lot of members familiar with that bow and HOYT in general.
You know what I was saying......A 30" 70# Havoctec at like 1lb. of mass weight
is going to inherently have more recoil than a bow like the "Pro38" at the same specs due to the much heavier mass weight and the riser configuration of the longer bow......No cheap shots at your baby I promise!<img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
I finally got to shoot the Havoctec as a friend of mine is now shooting that bow.......it was kinda hard to evaluate it at 65# and 28" draw.......you sort of have to "Scrunch" into if you know what I mean.
It was really pretty nice.....a beautiful looking little bow w/ a matching "Doinker" style factory Hoyt stabilizer which matched the camo perfectly for the "Fashion Concious" hunter.
(Why aren't you shooting that stablizer?...It balanced really well and seemed to work great)
It has a really cool riser and it's light as a feather, smooth and quiet.
Not a bad choice I must say!.......but guess what? My best friend has a BowTech "Tech29" at
70# & 28" that is just as smooth and quiet with the same arrow weight.....and regardless of draw weight the "Tech29" is FASTER!! (of course!<img src=icon_smile_tongue.gif border=0 align=middle>)
The Hoyt DID draw nicer however(but like I said it's not easy to compare when there is a 5# difference in draw weight)......Is the Versacam their "Smooth" cam?
My buddy who owns the Havoctec also shot the exact "Tech29" I mentioned and will back up my statements if I'm under oath!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
I really wish they made their 34" ATA and under bows in a 31" option so you could see for yourself.......You'd LOVE a "Mighty Mite"......a Tech29 would look pretty crazy at a draw length 2" over the ATA!!<img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>
But the Patriot sounds like the one to beat this year really......I can't wait to shoot it, just to shoot it. Buying really isn't in the cards at the moment if you know what I mean?!
