Default What is appealing about Bowtech?

Sure they are supposed to be fast, but by looking at their website I fail to see anything outstanding about any of their bows. Too be perfectly honest most of the bows on the market today look quite a bit alike to me. I am not in the market for a new bow(love my Martin presently), but list for me why Bowtech is impressing people.

Coug,
Wish I could help out. Curious myself? I recall the "Matthews wanna be" statement about them. Not trying to stir up your post, but considering a newbie (bow that is) in the next couple months myself, and the fact that Bowtech's line I would like to consider,..... I want to hear some comments also. Come to think about it Coug,.....the pro shop I visit carries MAtthews and MArtins and pushes both,...and he ain't no MAmmas boy!! LOL Sell me a MArtin buddy!!! What do you like so much about your MArtin and have you kept up with the current lines from both vendors? In other words,......If you were in the market yourself, who would be on your list and why?? I'm just curious. I'll have my fun on another post in a bit!!! YEP,..its Fri-Ni and Bud's my BUD!!

Hey Coug, to me it's the speed coupled with the quietness. Yeah, Mathews makes a big deal about their sound-absorbing qualities, but honestly, I don't think they're as quiet as Bowtech's offerings -- and nowhere near as fast!

Now I'm not saying my MQ-1 is anything to be ashamed of -- far from it; it's probably one of the best all-around bows on the market today, even after a couple years. And -- I don't think the Bowtech's are that much better to warrant considering trading at this point. But, you asked what I liked about them, and that's it.

When I first saw one about seven months ago, the pro fired a 375-grain arrow at about 315 fps into a target at the shop I walked into, and I absolutely couldn't believe how quiet it was -- with nothing on the string.

To be honest Twang I am not that enamored with most of Martin's bows.....to be perfectly honest the Cougar Magnum is the only Martin bow I really like. So much so that if I could afford it I would buy another one so I could have two alike! Gotta go, be back to check comments.

Speed! That's their big selling point, combine that with the high quality of their bows. They are in my top 3 to see list.

cougar, i have a martin fury, i truly love that bow, but after getting my bowtech bk2 i was so impressed with everyting about it, its quiet, more forgiving than my martin, wieghs half as much, did i mention faster? hows 327fps with 425grn arrows and 100 foot pounds of kenitic energy. kinda hard to beat that. it is the low brace 29" draw and 70lbs.

Let's see, where to start. First of all BowTech is one of the few bows that fit me. I am 6'7" tall and have a 32.5" draw length. The Pro40 fits that bill. I frequently shoot with my neighbor who shoots a Mathews Solo Cam at 28" and 55#. I shoot 64#. Both bows will sling an arrow downrange awfully fast, but the real difference comes in the sound. You can't hardly hear the BowTech. The thing is also the smoothest, sweetest shooting bow I have ever tried. Shoot one if you get a chance and see what you think. There are alot of excellent bows out there now, but I will buy another BowTech.

YEP.....SPEED is their main selling point, but there's more to it than speed.

They are quality bows top to bottom.....on a few of JeffB's "Boring Bow Reports" he has stated over and over how well made these bows are and the attention to detail when compared to a few other big name manufacturers that ........shall I say, "Cut Corners".GO to the "Technical Forum" and find the thread called ....."OH MY GOD, ANOTHER BOW REPORT ALREADY!!??"(probably on page 2 of the topics by now) Read it....it states very clearly how BowTech stacks up against the competition.

Their fit and finish is excellent, use high quality components like bronze axle bushings and stainless stabilizer inserts, they also use the best strings and cables on the market in "Winner's Choice" as STANDARD on all their bows(Except their kids bow and the "Stalker&quot.
They have their OWN patented cam technology(among others),Offer "Lifetime Warranty" on their bows..... and it seems like they are going to be producing some incredible bows for years to come......I understand they ALREADY have things on the drawing board for a few years down the road that will blow you away. The trick is to not lay all your cards down at once.......

That's before you even get to the speed!!.....the speed is there that's for sure, but guess what?? These are some of the nicest made bows on the market. They offer most models with 2 choices in brace height......almost all models (With the exception of the BKII) have an offering at or above 7" in Brace Height.....ANd they draw true (Not the 1/2" to an inch or more over that you get with some others just to get THEIR advertised speeds)

Do you guys realize that the second fastest bow on the planet has a 6.8" brace height!!!

I think half the people who counter with speed isn't everything.....accuracy counts are being silly to tell you the truth, and are CHEATING themselves to some serious benefits.
These are forgiving and SUPER fast, have some mild recoil on a few models, and are on the upper end as far as quietness goes.....some models are a little quieter than others.

But guess what all you "Speed doesn't kill" freaks.......You take a bow like my "Pro 38" dual Cam, which is quiet and recoil free already, and will spit a 350gr. arrow at 336fps(which I might add I can drive tacks with).
You then take that bow (with a nearly 7" brace height) and if you think all that speed is bad, THROW ON A HEAVIER ARROW!!!! SLOW IT DOWN!......Cause' you know what? You just made the Quietest, most recoil free, and HARDEST HITTING bow you've ever shot.
You don't believe me?......Anyone close by is more than welcome to shoot mine.
If the 350gr arrow at 336 doesn't sell you......then maybe the 500gr one at 283 might.
Could you benefit from 88ft lbs of KE??? I DO....either way you get that same awesome penetrating power.

Or you take my "Mighty Mite" which will throw a 450 grain arrow at that same 283fps....thats a single cam 31.75" ATA treestand hunting bow with a 7.25" brace height!
That's 79ft lbs of KE to use! USe it however you want.....shoot it at 300+ or 200+, it's still 79ft lbs of KE +/-!!!

DO you think I have any penetration problems?!

These bows give you 3 options VS. the rest of the market:
1) Shoot the same arrow as the competition and get higher speeds and more KE.
2) Shoot a HEAVIER arrow and get the same speeds that the competition gets with a lighter one.......MORE KE again. (ANd now the BowTEch is just as quiet, recoil and vibration free as anything)
3) Shoot LOWER POUNDAGE to achieve the same speeds with the same arrow as the competition.

These are great high quality bows.....they don't LOOK like anything special design wise, but they are.(What's everyone expecting laser beams?!)
They are proven to be the fastest bows on the market.....almost right across the board with every model. ANd that's not with smoke and mirrors, tiny brace heights, inflated speed numbers, or draw lengths that are too long right out of the box.

IF you shoot any bow BowTech makes against the competition in that class......IF you don't just flat out love it vs. the others, set it up to shoot the SAME SPEED as the other bow, either by lowering the poundage, or raising the arrow weight......Then shoot again.
If they didn't feel similar in how they shot....they should now, only one difference, in the first case you are using less energy to do the same thing as the competitor's bow......and in the latter case, you have a bow that now feels at or below the recoil levels of the competition with the same speed.....BUT you are using a heavier arrow and it is hitting harder.

WHy anyone wouldn't want the hardest hitting set-up they could get their hands on for hunting is beyond me?.......These bows will give it to you in just as forgiving and shootable a package as any other bow in it's class.

I don't have any serious "BLIND" brand loyalty like some guys and gals you see on these sites......IF I thought Hoyt or Mathews or whoever made something better, that shot better and hit harder than these bows.......I'D BE SHOOTING THEM TOMORROW.

Try em' and see for yourself.
