I think a few guys on here need to lighten up a bit. I have shoot many broadheads. I have also used Slick tricks. They are hands down the most accurate fixed blade head I have ever shot and I have never had any problem with deflection. One guy posts something negative about a head and suddenly its a bad product. If I boycotted every broadhead that I have heard at least one negative report about I would have to hunt with field tips. Here is a brief sample of what I mean.
Muzzys--------------------Don' t fly well and or group poorly
Rocket Ultimate steel----Blades fall out on hard impact
Rocket Steelheads-------blades are dull and the blades bend too easy.
Spitfires-------------------Penetrate poorly. Don' t open fast enough.
Snypers-------------------Tip curls too easy. Not rugged enough
Steelforce-----------------Long main blade too weak. Will snap off or bend too easy.
Magnus 2 blade-----------Tips can curl on impact. Don' t spin true out of the box.
Magnus Snuffer-----------Not glued to screw in adapter very well. Don' t spin true.
Thunderheads-------------Rear O-ring gets smashed out of alignment.
G5 Montecs----------------Dull as a fence post. Hard to sharpen.
Razorbacks----------------Bleeder blades fall out on impact
In general of course all 2 blade heads wind plane and leave poor blood trails and all expandables penetrate poorly while 4 blade heads don' t group well.
I could go on and on but you get my point. And please, I' m not saying that there is any validity to this list of complaints. These are simply a small example of online gripes I have heard about broadheads. Bottem line, you name the head and I will give you at least one complaint that I have heard about it.

Its ok guys, I just burst out laughing. I was warned that there was a reason manufacturers were shy about posting on forums, and I just had to find out for myself. Here I am, branded an unethical hog hunter, and I have never been on a hog hunt, heck there aren' t even any around here and I have never even SEEN a wild hog live or dead. NOW THATS FUNNY!!!! Gotta go back to work, with any luck I won' t work myself to death before I get to go hog hunting. I bet people reading this forum really got a hoot out of this, LOL OLDHOOTOWL

formula1 and Todd1700, I wasn' t at all slamming the slick tricks. I have my brand that I use and am very happy with them. I have never used them and don' t know anyone who does. The only thing that I took offense to was the quote about guys testing them by purposely shooting hogs in the shoulder to try them out. I do not know Gary ( oldhootowl). It sounds like he is very confident in his product. That is great. I t also sems that he backs his product up and has been very willing to replace heads etc. so people would be happy. Honestly, he seems to be a nice guy.I believe that that huntmup gave a very fair and detailed example of HIS experience with the heads. He did it in a very civil manner. He did a great job. Gary seemed to get a little hot about it and replied. Fine. They are his heads and had a right to stick up for them. Evrything was OK. But to make the statement about the purposely shooting the hogs in the shoulder, man that was a poor decison. I just feel that it was something that makes bowhunting look very bad. It is a shame that the world is that way. Guilty by association. But there are alot of opponents of bowhunting ( hunting in general) who jump on that kind of stuff. Besides, for me, my opinion only, that kind of stuff goes against what hunting is all about. I really hate to even use the term ethics because people get all bent out of shape. But think about it, taking a potentially marginal shot on a living game animal, ON PURPOSE!!, to test a head. I am sorry but that is plain wrong. I have talked to 4 different bowhunters today. I just happened to run into them . I explained the situation ( one guy read the post himself), and asked there honest opinion, before even giving mine. Every single one said that the thought it was a very negative statement to be made. Man I hate to see trouble stirred up on here. I really enjoy the posts where people are having fun and being helpful, with some good natured ribbing going on. But sometimes things do get heated. Unfortunately that is life. But I really cherish bowhunting and all that it entails. And when something like that is said, representing a negative spotlight on hunting in general, it is hard to just sit back and turn a deaf ear. As I said before, in an earlier thread about a questionable shot, I gave an opinion about ethics. A few guys came on and kind of ripped us guys of that opinion. I realized that I did probably overreact. The guy made the shot as a new hunter who was excited. He learned from it I am sure. I realzed that we all have done this. I was called into question for my statements. So I came back on with a very humble apology. I made the statements, were called on them. So I tried to make them right. Well, in this situation, Gary made a comment that people took offense to. He made the comment himself. He was called out on it. He came back with a heated reply. That was his right. But others have a right to call into question something that they feel is a detriment to the hunting lifestyle ( I hate to just call it a sport). That was my position on the matter. Everybody has different prefrences when it comes to eqpt. That is what the business world is all about. I didn' t have the problem with the opinions on the broadheads. It was the statement on the test that offended me. I am sorry if anybody is offended by my posts. I really am. I never want to come accross as a troublemaker. I love these forums. I love it when some advice I can give may help someone. And I love getting feedback from others to help me.But I just can' t sit back and not reply to something of that nature that goes against the welfare of something that is so important to me.. I am in no way trying to slam the Slick Tricks, or Gary himself. Just the statement on the hog deal. That is the sore point.

Don' t you just love our great nation. I have been to so many countries where the people would die for the right to be able to publicly voice their opinion or opposition. Let everyone say their piece. Support our constitution and our troops. Anyone seen the Dixie Chicks lately?
