Me, too. More I thought about it, though.....more I got to seeing the "other" side.

I just let him go, though. MY assumption was that wasn't the first deer in my range all year. If I wasn't gonna shoot him, previously......I'm sure not gonna shoot him on the closer.

with no venison in the freezer... Yes I would shoot. I was lucky enough to kill a doe early, so Ive passed on a couple forks this year, hoping for a nice buck, atleast 3.5 yeras old. But when your question stated that "you have no venison in the freezer", I knew my answer right away.. I consider myself a meat hunter.. I have my whole life to try and kill a trophy deer. Somehow I've been able to pass on small bucks my first year. I dont know how I passed on them, I just know that I'll have that feeling of "thats the one" immediatley when I see a buck I want

Ton-E, i had to chuckle while on stand this evening, this thread came across my mind, I had a spike come in 15 yards BUT its not the last day and i had an hour left [8D]
