Some do all the homework and know when and where a buck should be. The problem is you have to get the buck to cooperate. I have been out almost every day since October 1st. Just when I think I have a buck figured out, mother nature throws in a wrench to screw things up. Coyotes, dogs, other bucks, you name it, its going to happen. Have faith and have fun. Look at the other side of the coin, you could be one of those who is unable to go out and enjoy the outdoors. Say the Serenity Prayer and get back out there.

Young bucks are chasing hard here right now, but it is still early. from what I can tell, very few does are truly in heat...and you can tell which ones are, they are the ones accompanying the mega bucks... I saw the 2nd biggest buck of my life this morning, and Id bet my truck the doe he was with was fixin to be in heat if not there....these guys are the ruler of their woods...they know when a doe is in heat, and they wont put up with any other bucks around her. 2 or 3 days ago, the young bucks were zigzagging and dogging does everywhere around my stand, a huge buck made a beeline through the area chasin a single doe about 80 yards out, he wasnt wasting his time with all these other does, and no other bucks were stupid enough to try and tag along. Ive also noticed the young bucks are super vocal this year....

Id say the action(movement wise) will really pick up in next week or two as all the does come into heat.

Of course, this moon getting brighter and brighter and the September like weather arent helping either. Saturday has a predicted high of 54...ill be in a tree from dark to dark, that is a 20* drop from what the rest of the week will be like....but rifle season opens Sat as well...[&:]
