Who "knows" about does and BB's?

I saw a bb following a spike on Saturday....the only 2 deer I saw, my guess he's been run off already - or mama shot. I've seen it at all different times over the years, I have no clue as to "when" it typically happens, or if it always happens or not.
EVERY year I see young bucks (yearlings) mixed in with the doe groups, and some I know for sure are the young of the doe from the year previous (I see them all year round in my yard, get to know em). This tells me they don't all get run off as BB's, I'd be interested to know the % that do.
Coincidentally, I NEVER see those same bucks again with those does after they are 1.5 - its always the next years crop with mama

It's not just the bb's that get run off, its her fawns regardless of sex. Happens as she feels her breeding cycle starting up. Those fawns will return to her afterwards, and any buck fawns would be run off for good as yearlings next year.

Here in Ne I have seen a lot of small button buck and small doe running around like there lost the last two weeks. the big old does and buck have despaired. When you see small this year fawns running around with out the old does it means and buckare chasing the does in there pre- rut and has ran them off. I had five come under the othernight and fouryesterday morningthree button and one little doe.

ive seen a lone BB opening week of bow season (early oct) just this year...he was a large BB and didnt look lost or confused (like i see many that are looking that way)
id tend to agree with "whenever" probably something it is very far from anything anyone can come up with some consistence with...
id almost think that if mom never ran him off, that when the buck came to chase her and breed her, he will run him off....just defending/claiming his doe.
ive always thought lone antlerless deer were likely to be BBs...and cant remember ever seeing 2 BBs running together...till last year in flintlock season...2 yearlings came out of a drive behind about 20 other deer...they were about last in line and all alone...i checked quick but not well enough...smoke cleared and there laid my BB...they were both BBs as the other ran by i seen its buttons...guess mom ran them both off and they hung out together...i figured mom got hit or killed and it was going to be 2 yearling doe...no regrets...but i was shocked, though i should knew better and not assumed...

I get them on camera together through March, that's when I take my cameras out of the woods. They're run off while she breeds but join back up afterwards. I believe that they're run off when she starts preparing to drop her new fawns, possibly a month or so befroe hand.
