RE: Who "knows" about does and BB's?
I saw a bb following a spike on Saturday....the only 2 deer I saw, my guess he's been run off already - or mama shot. I've seen it at all different times over the years, I have no clue as to "when" it typically happens, or if it always happens or not.
EVERY year I see young bucks (yearlings) mixed in with the doe groups, and some I know for sure are the young of the doe from the year previous (I see them all year round in my yard, get to know em). This tells me they don't all get run off as BB's, I'd be interested to know the % that do.
Coincidentally, I NEVER see those same bucks again with those does after they are 1.5 - its always the next years crop with mama
