Here in NJ we went most of July and all of August with very minimal rain. I attribute that to the lack of acorns this year. Last year in the oak stand I hunt from, it seemed to be raining acorns and the deer were feeding there frequently. This year there seems to be none. Deer activity is way down in this oak stand, so 4 days ago I purchased some of that stump licker molases syrup stuff and poured it all over a stump 25 yards out from my tree. This morning I had 3 small bucks come in to that stump just about at 6:50 am. They were there licking and eating this stump like I have never seen for about 25 minutes. Now all I need is for there grand daddy to come take a taste, and I will be ready for him.
I originally went to buy some acorn rage, but the sportsing goods store was sold out of it... I had never even heard of this stuff, but thought it worth a try. When I get old grand dad.... I will post his pic for sure.
