Michigan man sues DNR for recent bait ban
#41
Let me get this straight, so there's no other market for their crops? They can't sell them for anything other than baiting deer? Hmmm, given the big biofuel kick and the rising price of groceries because there's not enough food because of biofuel ...
And then there's the hunting economy already mentioned. And the health of the deer population tied to it. Emergency button? Hardly. The emergency measure would be to hire sharpshooters and implment new earn a buck rules to wipe out your deer population. They're doing this so it doesn't come to that.

I do agree with the guy suing that state of Michigan. The disease hasn't been found in any wild deer yet and Michigan is hitting the emergency button. This guy should be furious and I would do the same thing. Any business is a gamble, but when your government screws you over then you have the right to be pissed. I hope everyone who planted Sugar Beets sues the state of Michigan until they have proof that CWD is in the deer herd.

Ok just to clarify, you guys hope the state gets sued for trying to protect the deer herd (by the way this is called being proactive as opposed to reactive -just throwing that in there in case you wanted to look up the definitions). Then you hope the farmer gets a big payout from the lawsuit that comes out of the pockets of the taxpayers instead of going into other more helpful programs making the economy even worse than it was before. Because now they don't have to money to fund those goverment supported assistance programs because they payed it all to 1 farmer because he decided to plant beets of his own valition. So now the farmers rich and the deer herd isjacked. Well fare and all of the other governement support programs are being shut down because they are under funded and are unable to handle to massive influx of umemployment claims that are being filed due to all of the mom and pop shops and other folks that depend on the deer season now being out of work, just so you guys can say"them DNR folks ain't got no business messn with our deer". Gotcha

Food plots are naturally occurring foods

You think there isn't a push on right now in MI to plant some of these "naturally occurring" foods?

Only thing "natural" is that it grows from the ground. Why was it planted?
