Yeah, but every Time you friend dosent get drawn, he gets more preferance points, and if you read the website it was like over half of the people drawn had a bunch of preferance points.

There was an unbelievable 9X7 , 400+" bull hanging out about 1 mile from our camp a couple years ago in Clinton Co.
You should have seen THAT thing up close. [:-]

I have never put in for a tag either myself........why I'm not sure but my buddy Frank has put in every year since it started and is bitter EVERY year about not getting drawn. LOL
That's a heck of a bull. My dad and I entered the first year, but haven't since then. I'm on the fence on whether the areas that are hunted are areas where the herd has become "domesticated" or where they're still like they are out west. I've heard reports claiming both sides of the argument.

Didn't know you had a camp in Clinton Co. Learn something new everyday.

I've been curious if once the elk were mixed in with the deer herd were than any negative effects?

I have heard from many when talking about releasing a herd into west central Illinois that it would have to many negative effects on our trophy hunting. No proof or homework done by me, I'm ignorant to this topic.

Others have said that our terrain here was not suitable for it and the competition over cover and food would not be suffecient enough to support a healthy population. I think I have heard before there is a small population in So. Illinois though...

I heard a rumor from a couple game commission officers they wanna bring elk to a few more counties in PA....I heard carbon/monroe/pike were possibilities.
See what happens.
That would be cool. Hey, I live in Elk Lick Township in Somerset County, it just makes sense right? [&:]
