How Much do you eat??

2-3 yr. My kids love the stuff. I make an outstanding steak sandwhich w/the loin straps. Sausage, jerky, stew, ground. It's amazing when u actually have to go out & buy beef. I can't get over how expensive it is.
Besides, nothing say "I love you" to your family than venison which costs about $20/pound. Camo, bow set up, gas, vehicle decked in camo/stickers, boots, license, time off work, you get the picture.

We HAVE to have four, fully mature deer each year or we run short. I'd prefer to kill five and be able to host a few grill-out sessions with friends if necessary.

There are only two of us so I voted 1-2 deer/year. We also eat a lot of chicken since we raise/butcher our own meat chickens. Plus with a core group of 50 laying hens of varying ages, we butcher the older ones every year to make room for younger hens. Add to that a couple of wild turkeys and some wild rabbit and dove thrown in for good measure that means just a little supplemental pork and beef from the store once or twice a month.

Getting down to the last of the 5 deer I butchered last season. We could easily go through more between just the two of us.
(I also happily scrape up roadkilled deer for the dogs.)

I usually take2-3 deer a year. Right now for our family of two we eat around one to two deer a year. I usually donate at least one deer a year to hunters feeding the hungry. This past February we gave away 1800lbs of ground venison in 5 minutes!
