Grunting

RE: Grunting
Generally no I don't blind call except in the rut. If I get bored I'll pull out the doe bleat and give a few soft calls from time to time.
I think an old buck would be more likely to swing down wind during an all out grunting/bleating/ratling sequence than if you just give a few soft calls. I think if a buck swung downwind of every deer vocalization he heard, he'd never get where he was going.

RE: Grunting
I use the grunt a lot. While I agree that seeing the buck before grunting is best, I blind call a lot also. I do this only during the rut. I've killed 2 nice bucks by blind calling and a lot of others by calling them to me after I've seen them.
