Chrono results Allegiance, what do you think?
Hello all, I just shot my second group out of my brand new (sorta, 07 model) Bowtech Allegiance and I happened to have my chronograph with me and wanted to share it with you and ask a couple of questions. Here are the specs. Set at 65 lb draw @29 inches, shooting 28.5 inch Easton Axis infused (9 GPI) 400's with 100 grain field tips.
1. 278.8 fps
2. 277.5 fps
3. 278.3 fps
4. 276.8 fps
5. 278.1 fps
Now I have not chronographed my own stuff before but I thought that this is quite consistent, but maybe it is not, my question is about my poundage. It has been many years since I have shot and I set the bow at 65 lbs (down from the 70 factory) to work up the muscles, but I like the poundage soo much that I am wondering if I should just leave it in case I have to pull in an akward stance etc.. What do you all think.

If your hunting I would leave it alone personally.. Speed is not always a great thing when hunting.. I would be more worried about noise and broadhead flight which can be directly affected with speed.
If your comfy with the pounds leave it, 65lbs is more than enough.. Trust me when I say that when hunting there will be times when it might even be tough to draw that.. Drawing your bow is much more challenging when it's freezing cold, when your sitting or standing in an odd position to get a shot and even harder when your shooting at a large buck and have buck fever.. Much different fromstanding in front of a non moving target when it's 80 outside..
Those are good numbers... Good Luck....

65#'s is more than enough for hunting. I would leave it if you like it and are comfortable with it.

I have found the Bowtechs to very consistent shot to shot. I am sure a lot of that has to do with the positive draw stops.
