Any of you get po'd and almost quit Deer Hunting?

I missed the first deer I ever shot at when I was 7 or 8 and I thought that I was horrible and wanted to quit. Since then I have realized that I am definitely horrible, but it is too fun to quit.

I have been frustrated enough to want to quit - but never would, hunted a place a few years ago 70 some times and seen two deer all season
Have much better places to hunt now - but it can get frustrating- but that is why we love it - if it was easy everyone would do it

I have moments when I shake my head at myself for doing something I know I shouldnt have done. Like when you hear that crack of a branch breaking behind you real close and swinging around real quick to look more out of instinct than anything, and spooking a nice shooter....

I have been po'd enough to stop hunting a particular spot. I had a stand I took down last Friday that I hadn't hunted in three years, the last two times I did I was shot at by a teenager with a .22. What kills me is that there wasn't enough proof to bust the little bastard because he claimed he was shooting at squirrels even though I was 25ft in a tree!! I was 40 yards of the far corner of the neighboring property and obviously the kid was pissed that I was killing deer. Nothing beats a .22 wizzing by you when you least expect it.

Nope, never! I love the anticipation of the next moment too much to quit. I pretty much accept the fact that every season or every hunt isn't going to be successful but I take away what I learned and what my nextmove is going to be. Hunting is a part of me..

Yes, but notbecause of a dry spell or doing something dumb.At the end of the 2006 season I swore thatunless I foundsome private landto get away from the slob hunters that had taken over the public landI huntthat I was going to quit. Don't get me wrong because I've met some great guys therebut more and more the slobsmade me embarrassed to call myself a hunter and be classified with them by members of the non hunting community. They had absolutely no respect for the outdoors or for their fellow hunters.I don'tknow if I would have really quit but I did find two farms to hunt and for whatever reason I went back to public land in the last week of the season and had it to myself!!I hunted the the whole week thereand it was the best week ofhunting I ever had. Go figure.
