Every run & gunner out there stops and yelps 7 times
I like to yelp 9 times:D

And as long as I scare them all off besides the one the commits, I don't care;)

When being aggressive stops working, I'll stop.

I know that if I wasn't calling to the bird that was 80 yards out in the field strutting, last year, as much as I did. I'd have never killed him.
If I only had 5 days to hunt I might too ,but we have all month.

And if I had a month, my tactics might change too.
I have a month and a half, and I'll be just as agressive as I've always been. ;)

Do you feel being aggressive in your calling is limiting you on your chances wih a more mature bird?
Kyle this was my question...and congrats.
If I had only five days to bow hunt turkeys I'd shoot any thing that didn't have egg shell still stuck to his down.[:-]

I read it wrong, LIMITING, not limiTED. lol.

The last three years I've hunted with bow...2/3 were mature. So, I don't think so, but I guess there is no way to know, unless I try going passive? These tactics were carried over from my smoke pole days, but still seem to prove successful. There isn't a lot of pressure, nor a long season.

...and congrats to you too;)

lmao One season under your belt and you're the authority on bowhunting turkeys?

Tell me Jeff, aside from shot placement, what is the big difference between calling a turkey into a shotgun setup out of a blind and calling a turkey into a bow setup out of a blind?

Absolutely nothing. The same theories and tactics apply.

Did I tag one last spring? No. Did I have shot opportunities? Absolutely.

Why did I elect to pass? I'm a trophy hunter where turkeys are concerned. Let 'em go so they can grow.

But again I'll ask, whats the difference as far as passive and agressive tactics are concerned between the two, Jeff?

You have not a clue, if you think there is no difference in the two completely opposite tactics.

And as far as that goes Jeff asked a question and if you were3000 miles closer I'd bet your game boy he'd slap that stupid out of you.

I'm about done with the attitude around here,[:@]

Let him, Jim. :eek:If he wants to be the internet tough guy you seem to want him to be, I'm sure Jeff will voice his opinion on it. However, I doubt Jeff would do anything of the sort.

But since you're also an expert, Jim, tell me... How are they different?

You need the bird to come into your set up. In order to accomplish this, how are the tactics any different?

After a bird has commited to the decoys, yes things change... But as far as passive or agressive tactics are concerned, (calling out of a blind ;)) how are they different?

That's what I thought. ;)

Don't condescend to me, Jim. I may be young, but I'm not an idiot.

Yes I have opinions and I will voice them strongly. Does that make me a know-it-all? Not really.

But definitely don't condescend to me because you're older. You just look like a first class ass.
