Here's my back packing stove in action making soup, it holds two gallons of unleaded, and can bring five gallons of water to boil in 20 minutes or so, gotta love the old Coleman-

I do like my MSR Whisper too though and gasoline can come in handy in a survival situation.

Main reason I purchased this stove was for the back country hunting I plan on doing over the next several years. On these trips I'll be living out of my backpack, so weight and storage space is crucial. The Pocket Rocket definitely fits the bill. We'll see how she really performs this fall.

Why wait until fall? Just go out in some snowy place like Snoqualmie Pass and spend the weekend. They usually have about 10 feet of snow by now.[&:]

There's a compact stove design out there you can make with steel wool and the bottoms of beer cans. I'll post a link if I can find one. It's designed to burn denatured alcohol and it is very lightweight. I had one for a while, but now I use the little fondue stove that came with a set we got as a wedding gift. Still haven't made fondue...
