It makes sense, cause in the heat of the moment you might nock the wrong arrow and....
Read your regs before you do this. Figure out your distances before the season (when hanging your stands or trimming).

Never bring up a "hot" topic with the old lady 2 hours before you are supposed to leave for a weekend hunt, I know....I know...I should know this one by now but sometimes my mouth is one tick faster than my brain. Lesson learned, from here on out it is please, thank you, take out the trash, empty the dishwasher, and pick my clothes up off the bathroom floor right before I leave.

Hear you on the wife, but I'm the opposite on squirrels. They have at times been my deer alarm clock.
