WOW ,Not that any one really cares. But hey these animals are not targets just to throw arrows in to. Some of theses responses just almost made me puke. Whess3298 ,after checking your profile I understand why maybe you dont get a shot under 30 yards in Colorado. But,I never took a shot with a bow over 25 yards. In my part of the country if you cant sit on the ground and get within 10 yards of a deer , I should not even be hunting.Hey I could walk out today and shoot my neighbor at 200 yards with my AK,but that dont make it ethical

Well this has turned into a good debate. But even after reading all of the posts I still don't beleive that taking that shot is the right thing to do. If George wants to show off his shooting skills don't do it on a live animal, do it on a target so if he misjudges the wind and gutshoots a McKenzie there's not problem. I've never said that it was a impossible shot just not ethical. I camera for Peak Hunting Productions.

Silent,
Other than condoning the shot, I think your response to Johnny was pretty darn good. Well said. I know that no person involved with hunter education here would condon that shot or use it as a positive example, and I'm thankfull for that.
If some of you don't think that a nonchalant move at 70 yards can create a disaster, think again. Saying that there is risk involved with all shots doesn't justify taking shots that inherently compound the risk factor. IMO
For those of you that use Fred Bear, Saxton Pope and others as justification for this type of shot I'd just say this. Just because somebody has done something, regardless of how famous they are, doesn't make it right.
